Job Summary

    The Housekeeping Manager in hotel operations is responsible to oversee and manage all aspects of the housekeeping department, ensuring the cleanliness, comfort, and aesthetic appeal of guest rooms, public areas, and facilities. They are responsible for leading and supervising housekeeping staff, setting standards for cleanliness and service quality, and maintaining inventory levels of cleaning supplies and amenities. Additionally, Housekeeping Managers collaborate with other departments, such as front office and maintenance, to ensure smooth coordination of operations and guest satisfaction. They also play a crucial role in training and development, implementing procedures and protocols, and upholding health and safety standards to provide a pleasant and hygienic environment for guests. Ultimately, Housekeeping Managers contribute to the overall success of the hotel by delivering exceptional housekeeping services that meet or exceed guest expectations.

Job Responsibilities 1

    Supervise and manage the daily activities of the housekeeping department, including room cleaning, public area maintenance, and laundry services, to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met.

    Develop and implement housekeeping procedures, policies, and standards to maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety throughout the hotel.

    Train, motivate, and supervise housekeeping staff, ensuring they adhere to established procedures and provide exceptional service to guests.

    Schedule and coordinate housekeeping tasks, including room assignments, deep cleaning, and maintenance projects, to ensure efficient use of resources and timely completion of tasks.

    Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and facilities regularly to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and compliance with hotel standards and regulations.

    Handle guest requests, complaints, and inquiries related to housekeeping services, resolving issues promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.

    Monitor and manage housekeeping budgets, expenses, and inventory, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing resource utilization.

    Coordinate with other hotel departments, such as front office, maintenance, and food and beverage, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration in meeting guest needs.

    Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in the housekeeping department, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards.

    Maintain accurate records and reports of housekeeping activities, including room occupancy, cleanliness scores, and staff performance evaluations, using hotel management software systems.

Thorough understanding of housekeeping procedures, techniques, and standards to effectively oversee and manage departmental operations.

Attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and hygiene throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and facilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with guests, staff, and other departments, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Problem-solving capabilities to handle operational challenges, prioritize tasks, and implement solutions to maintain efficiency and quality in housekeeping services.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
