Job Summary

To provide supervision for the Patient Registration areas, Inpatient and Outpatient. They will aid in setting goals, priorities, and performance standards for Patient Access functions including scheduling and registration. They will support in the Revenue Cycle process by collaborating with other operational areas and ensuring accurate and timely input of patient demographic and insurance information. 

Job Responsibilities 1

Reviews Patient Access policies on a regular basis and makes updates as needed, focusing on continuous process improvements. 

Assists in the budget process and recommends the purchase of equipment and systems. 

Develops and supervises Patient Access staff through the provision of timely feedback and the use of appropriate Human Resources policies and tools to facilitate and ensure the ability of staff to achieve the highest level of professional growth and desired performance standards. 

Supervises, develops, establishes, implements, and evaluates the EMR systems to monitor the accuracy and timeliness of registration. 

Monitors up-front cash collection efforts and provides timely feedback to the Patient Access Manager for any related financial implications. 

Creates and implements methodologies to measure and improve patient satisfaction. 

Ensures the Patient Access team’s understanding, awareness, and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards. 

Ensures registration audits are regularly performed to promote quality and identify root causes of issues to develop action plans for process improvement. 

Monitors and analyses Key Performance Indicators for Patient Access processes providing recommendations for improvement as needed. 

Supports and assists in the cross-functional training for the Patient Access team aiming to have a universal staff that can support and cover other tasks when required. 

Aids in the Patient Access allocation and scheduling in accordance with the volume and workflow indicators to ensure compliance with department goals and improve patient journey. 

Monitors and follows up on all the required reports that the Patient Access team needs to formulate and generate on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. 

Monitors and assures that employee time is recorded accurately.  

Job Responsibilities 2

Generates and maintains keeps departmental records and reports. 

Supports the Patient Access team by registering and pre-registering patients as necessary and whenever needed. 

Physically available onsite to support the team and the workflows. 

Acts as a liaison between the team and other internal cross-functions. 

Conducts monthly staff meetings to discuss pending matters and performance metrics. 

Assumes on-call responsibilities to ensure there is enough staff to complete the day-to-day tasks and to solve any related problems. 

Performs other assignments as may be required by the management. 

Ensures compliance with the Hospital’s and Finance department’s policies, procedures, and Code of Ethics and reports any deviations/noncompliance

Understanding of health care provider financial operations. 

High level of computer literacy required.  

Ability to work well under pressure.

Good oral and written communication skills to work with patients, physicians, and department staff.

Job Experience

5+ years of healthcare experience in a Patient admission.

5+ years in a supervisory/leadership role. 

Functional experience in revenue cycle.

Minimum 2 years of experience in GCC (preferred).
