The Cardiothoracic Surgery Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the surgical management of cardiovascular and thoracic conditions, providing comprehensive preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Job Responsibilities 1
Assists in performing a wide range of cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), heart valve surgeries (mitral, aortic), thoracic surgeries (lobectomies, pneumonectomies), and minimally invasive surgery techniques.
Supports senior surgeons in complex surgeries and perform specific surgical tasks under supervision, ensuring a high standard of care and patient safety.
Participates in endoscopic, robotic, and minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgeries, including video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) and other advanced techniques.
Assists in performing off-pump and on-pump surgeries, including managing patients during cardiopulmonary bypass when required.
Conducts preoperative evaluations, including patient histories, diagnostic assessments (e.g., ECG, echocardiogram, angiography), and risk stratification for surgical candidates.
Develops personalized surgical plans in collaboration with senior surgeons, ensuring tailored treatment strategies for each patient.
Job Responsibilities 2
Manages postoperative care, including patient monitoring in the intensive care unit (ICU), providing clinical follow-ups, and addressing any complications or concerns.
Educates patients on their surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and postoperative care.
Works closely with multidisciplinary teams, including cardiologists, pulmonologists, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff, to ensure optimal patient outcomes throughout all stages of surgery.
Participates in clinical rounds, discuss patient cases with the team, and contribute insights and recommendations.
Collaborates in the development and implementation of care protocols to ensure evidence-based, consistent patient care practices.
Participates in ongoing clinical research projects to further the understanding and treatment of cardiothoracic diseases, contributing to the publication of results in medical journals.

Job Knowledge & Skills
Familiarity and competence with key cardiothoracic procedures, including the use of surgical tools, techniques, and technologies such as robotic systems and minimally invasive surgery.
Ability to assess patient health using diagnostic tests such as echocardiograms, CT scans, angiograms, and pulmonary function tests.
Ability to make evidence-based decisions in high-pressure, critical care environments, particularly in perioperative and postoperative settings.
Strong team player with excellent communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Focus on providing compassionate, individualized care, educating patients and their families, and making informed decisions based on patients’ health status and needs.
High attention to detail, especially in the accurate documentation of patient data, surgical notes, and postoperative care instructions.

Job Experience
Minimum of minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a clinical setting, with at least 1-2 years of dedicated experience in cardiothoracic surgery or a closely related specialty.
Hands-on experience with common cardiothoracic procedures, including open heart surgery, lung resection, and minimally invasive techniques.
