Job Summary

    The Chief Engineer in property management is to oversee the technical operations and maintenance of the property's physical infrastructure to ensure its optimal functionality, safety, and efficiency. They are responsible for managing the maintenance staff, coordinating repair and maintenance activities, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and prolong the lifespan of building systems. Additionally, the Chief Engineer is tasked with ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards, as well as overseeing energy management initiatives to improve sustainability and reduce operational costs. They play a crucial role in responding to emergencies, troubleshooting technical issues, and liaising with contractors and vendors to address complex repair and renovation projects.

Job Responsibilities 1

    responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems within the property.

    They lead and manage a team of maintenance staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective execution of maintenance tasks.

    Developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs to identify and address potential issues before they escalate, thereby minimizing downtime and reducing repair costs.

    Conducting regular inspections of building systems and equipment to assess their condition, identify maintenance needs, and prioritize repair or replacement projects.

    Responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues and minimize disruptions to occupants.

    Ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards through regular inspections, audits, and adherence to maintenance protocols.

    Managing the property's energy consumption and implementing energy conservation measures to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.

    Overseeing repair and renovation projects, including obtaining bids, selecting contractors, and monitoring progress to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion.

    Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventory, and service contracts to support efficient decision-making and budget planning.

    Collaborating with property management teams, tenants, vendors, and contractors to address technical issues, implement improvements, and enhance the overall operation and performance of the property.

Job Knowledge & Skills

possess in-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to effectively oversee their maintenance and operation.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are valuable for liaising with property management teams, tenants, contractors, and vendors to coordinate maintenance activities and address technical concerns effectively.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position, 2 years GCC experience is a plus
