Job Summary

    The Chief Surveyor implements Company Quality control and surveying standard and maintains the positional accuracy, quality during construction activities under extreme pressure. The Chief Surveyor also assists Project Management to achieve strategic business goals and operational objective

Job Responsibilities 1

    Lead teamwork, implement, and evaluate program that facilitate the professional development and continuous

    learning of surveying staff.

    Assist direct manager for related to any issues to site whereas input required to do so.

    Supervise a group of personnel in the designated project and to maintain balance in assigned work

    assignment, task and activities.

    Establish the Main Control Station, Main Datums and Grid lines drawing from clients.

    Coordinate/inform relevant management and/or design department of discrepancies and/or errors in design

    drawings that are identified/encountered.

    Advise management of most time and cost efficient method to perform surveying task related to construction

    operations.

    Inform management and commercial management of any extras that is required to be back charged to other

    contractors.

    Prepare necessary shop/design drawings to maintain smooth operation for surveying relevant to site

    operations.

    Prepare or obtain necessary legal requirement or approval from any govt dept. relevant to site operations.

    Prepare, planned requirements (Resources, Manpower) or deployment schedule for projects requirement.

    Arrange and maintain all record, reports, drawings and survey equipment calibration/service logs.

    Instructs Surveyors of tasks required on site.

Job Responsibilities 2

Operationally look after and or arrange all site deployments for survey staff as necessary.

Construct weekly surveyors schedule to ensure progress and that all surveyors are continuously are on-task.

Monitor Surveyors' work to efficient productivity, quality and progress.

Produce, maintain and analyze Survey reports (for as-built surveys, setting-out drawings etc.).

Arrange necessary training workshops for project survey manpower development.

Prepare and evaluate all survey staff job appraisal upon request

Additional Responsibilities 3

Job Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of Qatar Surveying manual (QSM) to proceed and maintain Surveying standards. Knowledge of

Information Technology, different software used for surveying. Knowledge of Advance surveying with respect to

modern era technology/instruments. Knowledge of Quantity Calculation. Data Record and Back-up

management. Structural and Architectural drawings understanding.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering
Professional Qualification in Chartered membership of a professional organization such as CIOB or RICS. or any related field
