Clinical Pathology Specialist
Job Summary
To read, diagnose and report illnesses based on laboratory test results.
To provide administrative oversight of the Laboratory Unit, maintain the relevant and necessary quality control and safety programs, and provide educational and development support to junior medical staff.
Job Responsibilities 1
Perform specimen analysis by using laboratory tools and equipment, in order to study samples for transfusion use including the blood type, blood group, cell morphology and compatibility with other blood types and perform tests to accurately analyze bodily fluids and tissue specimens.
Looking for abnormalities in samples that evidence disease and conveying this information to the relevant medical practitioner.
Using checklists, medical software, and retesting to get thorough and precise results.
Suggesting potential treatment options.
Writing pathology reports detailing specimens tested, results of tests, and the final diagnosis.
Undertaking research to improve identification and testing methods and finding innovative ways to treat disease.
Staying up to date with developments in the fields of pathology and medical practice.
Job Responsibilities 2
Log data from lab tests and enter results in patient’s record.
Discuss the results of the lab tests with doctors.
Adheres to policies, guidelines, plans and programs of the organization.
Performs other duties as assigned/directed by the Head of the department.

Job Knowledge & Skills
• Certified in Clinical Pathology and/or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.Intermediate Life Support Certification.Experience in primary or secondary care.Strong expertise in pathology and clinical informatics, clinical chemistry, apheresis, transfusion medicine, microbiology, and molecular pathology.Have a comprehensive understanding of the human anatomy, medicine, and scientific principles relating to human health.Have a high level of knowledge about various diseases, cells types, and dyeing techniques and utilize findings to properly diagnose.Proficiently knowledgeable about various imaging modalities and how to utilize them.
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

5 years of experience in the similar role
2 years in GCC (preferred)
