Job Summary

The Consultant - Medical Imagine is reponsible for all medical imaging techniques to produce visual representations of specific areas in the human body that are related to diagnosis, establishing effective patient care plans, and referring patients to the appropriate specialists. The position holder should be highly trained with proven experience of effectively working in an emergency room or urgent care setting.

Job Responsibilities 1

Reviewing and interpreting medical images to determine patient status and future medical care.

Determining the exact images required for diagnosis and delivering orders.

Administering trace amounts of radioactive substances to create and enhance diagnostic images.

Performing minimally invasive surgical techniques with image guidance.

Evaluating patients’ medical histories to ensure the various medical imaging procedures will not harm them.

Suggesting alternative medical imaging techniques, when necessary.

Interpreting the results from diagnostic imaging procedures to determine diagnoses.

Communicating and discussing results and diagnoses with physicians.

Compiling written reports of results and diagnoses.

Following medical protocols for resuscitation, bleeding, infection, or other emergency situations, when necessary.

Working with radiology lab technicians to perfect image quality.

Working with primary care doctors, nurses and radiology technicians to administer treatment and manage pain.

Job Responsibilities 2

Actively participate in the planning and implementation of the department development plans and the different manpower training programs for the medical, technical and nursing staff  in his/her area of expertise. 

Participates in the various committees for the upgrading of services and organization of work within and outside the hospital.

Participates in scheduling of on-call duties and provides on-call services. 

Adheres to policies, guidelines, plans and programs of the organization.

Performs other duties as assigned/directed by the Head of the department.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in general radiology techniques, including X-ray, MRI, and ultrasound.

With valid medical license to practice in country of residence.

Patient-centric

Excellent and effective communication skills to explain complex medical information, procedures, answer questions to patients and their families.

Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Perfect vision and visuospatial awareness.

Supervise fellows, staff/assistant physicians and residents and with the collaborative ability to work well alone as well as within a team.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

 

Job Experience

Minimum of 6 years of experience in the similar role/setting in accredited healthcare facility.

3 years in GCC is preferred
