Job Summary

    The Cost Control Manager is responsible to control and take responsibility for all Company-wide cost plans, monitors and reports on the Company project cost plans, and monitors cost and collects the cost data to ensure conformity with the Management’s budget directives cost tracking, forecasting; and financial reporting. Ensures resource and activity costing is available on a monthly basis for all Projects.

Job Responsibilities 1

    Develop and implement cost control procedures and policies to ensure effective monitoring and management of project expenditures.

    Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to establish project budgets and cost baselines, ensuring alignment with project objectives and financial constraints.

    Monitor project costs throughout the project lifecycle, tracking actual expenditures against budgeted amounts and identifying any variances.

    Analyze cost data to identify trends, forecast future project costs, and provide accurate financial forecasts to project stakeholders.

    Review and approve project-related expenses, ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures.

    Investigate cost variances and discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions as necessary to bring costs back in line with budgeted amounts.

    Provide regular cost reports and updates to project teams and senior management, highlighting key cost drivers, risks, and opportunities for cost savings.

    Conduct cost audits and reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of cost data, identifying areas for process improvement and optimization.

    Collaborate with procurement and contracts management teams to negotiate favorable terms with vendors and suppliers, minimizing project costs while maintaining quality standards.

    Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to cost control, implementing changes and improvements as needed to enhance cost management processes and strategies.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of Cost Control and estimating packages such as CCS (Candy) is essential

Strong understanding of financial principles and cost accounting methodologies.

Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis techniques.

Advanced knowledge of project management principles and practices.

Excellent analytical skills to interpret cost data and identify trends and variances.

Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with project teams, stakeholders, and vendors. Computer skills: MS applications and Primavera 6 but not essential

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role

Job Experience

Minimum 10 year(s) working experience, 8 year(s) in a relevant supervisory position, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus

Education

College Level in Chartered membership of a professional organization such as CIOB or RICS.
