Job Summary

The Customs Clearance Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the import and export clearance process in compliance with all applicable customs regulations. The role ensures that all required documentation is accurate, submitted on time, and aligned with legal and regulatory requirements. The specialist serves as the key liaison between the company, customs authorities, and logistics service providers to ensure timely and smooth clearance of goods.

Job Responsibilities 1

Prepare, review, and submit all customs documentation required for import and export operations.

Ensure compliance with local and international customs laws, procedures, and trade agreements.

Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and clearing agents to ensure timely clearance of shipments.

Monitor and track shipments, resolving any issues or delays with customs authorities.

Maintain updated knowledge of customs regulations and tariffs, including HS codes and duty structures.

Maintain accurate records of all customs clearance documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to plan and support inbound and outbound shipments.

Liaise with government authorities for obtaining licenses, permits, and approvals when required.

Verify shipping invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP

Job Experience

Minimum 5 years working experience, 3 years relevant working experience, 2 years GCC experience is a plus.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics related course or Business Administration
