Job Summary

The Team Lead - Dental Lab will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Dental Lab and ensuring that the Dental laboratory team is working efficiently and effectively. They will be responsible for managing the team’s schedules, delegating tasks, and ensuring that the team is providing high-quality care to patients. Also, they will be responsible for handling administrative tasks such as managing budgets, ordering supplies, and maintaining patient records.

Job Responsibilities 1

Supports the Manager in the overall management of the personnel within the Dental Laboratory including but not limited to, interviewing, training, developing goals, preparing and delivering performance reviews, disciplining, delegating tasks among the staff, and other management duties that ensure smooth operation within the Dental Laboratory.

Provides day-to-day supervision of all Dental Laboratory aspects of the practice and organizes and directs the daily activities of the Dental Laboratory team.

Supervises the activity and productivity of their staff in close consultation with the Manager and Head of Department- Dentistry

Responds efficiently to patient and provider needs and inquiries to ensure the delivery of quality dental care to patients.

Assists the Manager – Dentistry in managing the inventory of Dental Laboratory supplies and orders replacements when needed.

Actively monitors workflows, processes and protocols for consistency, quality, and adherence.

Maintains patient data according to regulations and company policies, ensuring that records are stored securely and in compliance with privacy and security regulations.

Oversees the training, development, and performance of Dental Laboratory staff to meet performance standards.

Utilizes data to routinely monitor key performance indicators and report results to the Manager – Dentistry.

Assists with revenue cycle functions as may be needed relating to revenue posting, collections, accounts receivable and invoice processing, etc.

Job Responsibilities 2

Implements Hospital’s policies and protocols and makes sure that employees comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Develops and maintains close relationships with team members and patients and guests.

Ensures compliance with all relevant organizational Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Quality Management (QM), and Patient Safety, policies, procedures, and controls across the Dental Laboratory to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality service standards and a responsible environmental attitude.

Ensures the Dental Laboratory is meeting safe clinical practice and supports risk management activities.

Keeps the laboratory neat and clean.

Cleans and sterilizes equipment used in the lab, including tools such as drills, files, saws, and grinders.

Designs, creates, constructs, modifies, and fits removeable dental appliances for patients.

Works with dental materials such as porcelain, gold, plastics, and acrylics to create dentures, crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures, retainers, and other dental lab products.

Prepares models of patients’ teeth for impressions by carving the models out of wax or plastic.

Uses computerized equipment to scan and digitize digital images of teeth for use in fabricating custom dental restorations.

Additional Responsibilities 3

Reports defective equipment or expired materials so that corrective action can be taken.

Investigates and takes action to resolve the problems with analytical methods.

Participates in the implementation of new methodologies under the direction of Manager and Head of Dentistry.

Keeps informed of advancements in the field of dental laboratory technologies and techniques.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Experience

5+ years of relevant experience as Dental Technician (Required).

Supervisory experience required.

Minimum 2 years of experience in GCC (Preferred).

Education
