Design Coordinator
Job Summary
The Design Coordinator plans and oversees the aesthetic elements of a project. The role is responsible to determine project requirements, develop design concepts, prepare cost estimates, source materials, review progress, and consult with clients every step of the way.
Job Responsibilities 1
Coordinate design activities between various engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
Manage the design process, including scheduling, tracking progress, and resolving design-related issues to meet project milestones.
Ensure design deliverables meet quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements through reviews and audits.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
Facilitate collaboration and communication between internal design teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
Manage design changes and revisions, including assessing impacts on scope, schedule, and budget, and obtaining necessary approvals.
Identify design risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues and minimize project disruptions.
Monitor design-related costs, track expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities to optimize project budgets.
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding design-related matters, providing updates, addressing concerns, and soliciting feedback.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and efficiency within the design coordination process to enhance project delivery and client satisfaction.

Ensures the quality of design documents and coordination of all disciplines.
Ensures that the design deliverables meets the Authorities requirements.
Ensures to manage the interior design process (RFP, bids review, appointing of ID, ID design deliverables).
Ensures to manage the coordination process between the ID and the AOR and ensure the deliverables are on time for each.
Ensures to obtain the required control samples form the ID and handover to the project technical manager along with ID deliverables.
Ensures to coordinate with procurement, estimation & the client to ensure that ID material are approved, technically accepted, available and value engineered within the budget.
Ensures that the deliverables of the specialty consultants are integrated in the lead consultant design deliverables with no conflict.
Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies
Job Knowledge & Skills
Understanding of engineering concepts and design fundamentals across various disciplines.
Project Management: Skills in project coordination, scheduling, and budgeting to ensure efficient design processes.
Effective verbal and written communication skills to facilitate collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
Familiarity with design software and tools used in the industry for creating and reviewing technical drawings and documents.
Ability to analyze design challenges, propose solutions, and make informed decisions to overcome obstacles during the design process.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Job Experience
Minimum 5 year(s) working experience, 3 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
