Job Summary
The Design Director leads and successfully manages the design process of a project in line with programme requirements, from concept through to details design, BOQ, IFCs and project execution, ensuring full compliance with Contract specifications whilst minimizing cost and maximizing value engineering opportunities.
Job Responsibilities 1
Lead and inspire the design team, setting the creative vision and direction for projects to ensure innovative and high-quality design solutions.
Oversee the entire design process from concept to completion, ensuring projects meet client requirements, timelines, and budgets.
Ensure technical accuracy and feasibility of designs, working closely with engineering and production teams to address any technical challenges.
Develop and implement design strategies that align with the organization's goals and enhance its competitive edge in the market.
Maintain high standards of design quality, reviewing and approving designs to ensure they meet company standards and client expectations.
Engage with clients to understand their needs and preferences, presenting design concepts and incorporating feedback to refine designs.
Allocate and manage resources, including team members and design tools, to ensure efficient project execution and delivery.
Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, integrating relevant advancements into the design process.
Foster collaboration between design, technical, and other departments, ensuring seamless integration and alignment of efforts across the organization.
Mentor and develop the design team, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their skills and career growth.

Job Knowledge & Skills
Strong ability to conceptualize and develop innovative design solutions that align with project goals and client expectations.
In-depth understanding of design software, tools, and technical requirements to ensure the feasibility and accuracy of designs.
Excellent leadership skills to guide and inspire the design team, along with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
Proficiency in managing design projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to integrate advancements into the design process.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Job Experience
Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position, 2 years GCC experience is a plus
