Job Summary
The Insurance Coordinator does coordination, liaison and network between insurance companies regarding eligibility, payments, approvals, reconciliation and other requirements.
Job Responsibilities 1
Ensure all pre-authorizations are sent to the insurance companies and are tracked and followed up on in a timely manner.
File all primary and secondary insurance claims in a timely manner.
Prepare and mail letters for outstanding insurance claims including any necessary communication regarding claims.
Process statements as scheduled by manager.
Attend insurance seminars as required; maintain working knowledge of filing insurance claims through review and understanding of bulletins and updates.
Follow-up on all unpaid insurance claims including completely working delinquent claims report monthly.
Assist requesting individuals with account questions.
Maintain and practice confidentiality.
Responsible for following and compliance with all regulatory requirements and/or guidelines.
Conduct all duties in a manner which is conducive to the policies and procedures of the company.

Job Knowledge & Skills
• Accurately correspond with patients verbally and via email.Has excellent relationship and rapport building experience with the ability to communicate clearly.Present information with patients in person and on phone conversations.Comprehensive knowledge of insurance principles and practices.Knowledge of relevant legislation and its application to the County's insurance policies and practices.Knowledge and experience in dealing with local government organizations, government regulations, and the political process.Demonstrate excellent customer service, organizational, prioritizing, time management skills, problem-solving skills and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
