Job Summary

The Assistant Drilling Manager assists in overseeing drilling operations on various projects, ensuring that they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role supports the Drilling Manager in coordinating teams, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with company procedures, regulations, and environmental policies.

Job Responsibilities 1

Assist the Drilling Manager in managing and coordinating drilling operations.

Ensure all activities are in compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies.

Collaborate with rig teams, engineers, and contractors to execute drilling plans.

Monitor the performance of drilling operations, adjusting as needed to meet project goals.

Review daily drilling reports and monitor progress to ensure optimal performance.

Coordinate equipment and personnel logistics for drilling operations.

Assist with budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation.

Ensure that all well data is accurately recorded and maintained.

Oversee maintenance and repair of drilling equipment.

Lead safety meetings and conduct training on best practices.

Participate in the preparation of well programs and risk assessments.

Provide recommendations for improving drilling performance and safety standards.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

HSE Regulations & Compliance – Strong understanding of industry safety standards (API, OSHA, IWCF) and environmental policies.

Rig Equipment & Maintenance – Knowledge of drilling rig components, hydraulic systems, and preventive maintenance.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Arabic. Proficiency in French is optional but preferred.

Strong analytical skills to address operational challenges and optimize drilling performance.

Job Experience

Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position, 2 years GCC experience is a plus.
