Environmental Engineer
Job Summary
The Environmental Engineer adheres to best industry practices, both in terms of result and effectiveness, in order to identifies and distributes information on environmental programs that incorporate sustainable development. The role encourages projects to apply environment principles and participate in sustainable development programs and activities at local, regional, and international levels; and keeps abreast of international developments that can contribute to environmental best practices.
Job Responsibilities 1
Perform environmental assessments to identify potential risks, hazards, and impacts on health and safety.
Develop and implement environmental management plans to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Monitor environmental performance and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Investigate environmental incidents, accidents, and non-compliance events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Provide environmental training and awareness programs to employees and contractors to promote a culture of environmental responsibility and compliance.
Manage hazardous materials and substances safely, including storage, handling, transportation, and disposal.
Conduct air and water quality monitoring to assess environmental impacts and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Conduct environmental impact assessments for new projects, facilities, or operations to evaluate potential environmental risks and impacts.
Obtain environmental permits and approvals for activities, facilities, or projects in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, communities, and environmental groups, to address environmental concerns and build positive relationships.

Job Knowledge & Skills
In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and standards, including those related to air quality, water quality, waste management, and pollution prevention.
Ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential environmental hazards, evaluate their impact on health and safety, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Proficiency in using various environmental monitoring techniques and equipment to assess air and water quality, soil contamination, and hazardous material exposure.
Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) to develop, implement, and maintain effective HSE programs.
Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and engage with stakeholders to address environmental concerns and promote compliance.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Minimum 5 year(s) working experience, 3 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
