Job Summary
The Estimator works closely with Senior Estimator and Project Managers to determine the costs associated with completing the scope of work in a tender. This position is also responsible for completing quantity take-offs, preparing cost estimates, organizing bid bonds, communicating with sub trades to determine the financial needs of completing a project. Job Responsibilities 1
Ensures compliance to the IMS Procedures.
Assesses the type of tender, client and closing date of tender to determine prioritization of all tenders.
Ensures ownership of bid submissions and issue handover documents following contract award.
Develops a coherent and consistent tender submission with the use of key estimating assumptions.
Prepares sound, consistent data for profitable tendering (estimate of man hours, equipment, subcontractors and
material costs).
Prepares data required for reviews and presentation to client.
Handles inquiries and provides information related to tendering and estimating.
Reviews budget and project profitability status and goals with supervision and project team as required. Seeks
input on corrective measures to continuously improve the identification and accuracy of cost figures.
Liaises with the Engineering Team on the design element of design and construct tenders and providing
temporary works support for tenders.
Maintains RFQ files by converting, organizing, and saving information according to Company’s electronic
system.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results while maintaining a positive and professional
Company image.
Ensures that a non-adversarial, non-confrontational and professional approach is adopted at all time when
dealing with all internal and external customers.
Maintains the highest level of commercial confidentiality in all aspects of employment
Job Responsibilities 2
Maintain contact with suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain pricing and products for tender submission as
well as to keep up to date with new products.
Analyze drawing, specifications and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
Assist in the process of quantity take-offs, both manually and digitally, from tender documents and drawings.
Prepare and send out enquiries to suppliers / sub-contractors selected from the clients preferred list and
organization approved list.
Coordinate with the client on all changes in scope, questions or clarifications regarding the work, during the
bidding process.
Conduct site inspection for tender understanding, analysis of conditions and assessment of risk and
identification of activities that may or may not be shown in tender documents.

Job Knowledge & Skills
Proficient in analyzing project requirements, including scope, specifications, and timelines, to accurately estimate costs and resources.
Strong understanding of tendering processes and contract requirements to develop competitive bids and proposals.
Advanced mathematical skills for performing quantity take-offs, cost calculations, and risk assessments in estimation.
Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in estimating project costs and timelines.
Familiarity with relevant software tools such as estimating software, spreadsheets, and databases to streamline estimation processes and enhance efficiency.
RP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Minimum 5 year(s) working experience, 3 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
