Job Summary
The Group Legal Counsel is responsible to determine all commercial legal activities of the Group and to ensure that they are carried out in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and charters of the companies within the Group. The position assesses, control, and determine legal information to all stakeholders (e.g., cases, statutes, and regulations). Giving accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics. Collaborating with management to devise efficient defense strategies. Specifying internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance.
Job Responsibilities 1
Contribute to the development of Company's vision, mission and strategy and lead the development of the business unit’s strategy ensuring its alignment with the broader objectives of the organization.
Build and lead a motivated, engaged and competent manpower throughout the business unit, by setting priorities and objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the business unit’s challenges and goals.
Define an optimum organization structure for the business unit and direct the development of divisions to ensure efficient and effective utilization of the business unit’s resources.
Provide support and input for the development of the business unit’s manpower plan collaborating with Human Capital to ensure timely and best-of-class delivery of tasks.
Provide direction on the preparation and consolidation of the business unit’s budget in line with PIH’s annual business plan.
Direct and approve the public private partnerships (PPP) legal proceedings.
Plan general business law issues and managing the legal issues of all areas of the Company, including but not limited to corporate matters, procurement, safety, security, insurance and sustainability issues.
Control the department as required in liaison with the superior.
Determine the (legal) risks connected with or resulting from the business strategy and operations.
Assess the compliance of business operations with relevant laws and regulations.
Ensure that the awareness of business employees for (compliance with) relevant laws and regulations is created and maintained on a effective manner.
Assign counsel members to provide legal advice on various matters including but not limited to contracts and agreements templates, corporate affairs, advisory to the organization business units, corporate governance, legal compliance, Joint Venture, Major Projects, disputes, and employment related topics.
Ensure that proper preparation of draft contracts and agreements required for Company activities are done and approve the contracts and agreements.
Ensure that proper preparation and drafting of legal documents (Notices, claim, official forms, etc.) and corporate documents (Board resolutions, shareholders’ assembly, minutes of the meetings, etc. are done in a timely manner.

Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and approval of contracts and agreements.
Liaise with shareholders, law firms, and governmental bodies on legal matters and advise on new laws and regulations.

Job Knowledge & Skills
Comprehensive knowledge of legal principles, corporate law, and regulatory compliance relevant to group operations.
Strong analytical skills to assess legal risks, interpret complex laws, and provide strategic guidance to the organization.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to represent the group's interests in legal matters and negotiations.
Proficiency in drafting and reviewing a wide range of legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
Leadership capabilities to oversee legal affairs, manage legal teams, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Job Experience
Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position, 2 years GCC experience is a plus
