HR Government Affairs Officer

Job Summary

The officer is responsible in managing and controlling the process of all activities that are related to the Government offices/agencies. Oversees and ensures that responsibilities are executed in a timely manner, and provide the business with efficient reports.  This role analyzes and interprets government policies, evaluate potential impact to organization's operation and reviews internal policies, plans, programs to ensure consistency with corresponding government regulations and laws.

Job Responsibilities 1

  1. Monitors the implementation of an improvement process for all immigration and labour records to be tracked and maintained through the established organization system
  2. Assists in developing, managing, periodical review, and communicating Government relations policies and processes to ensure organization compliances.
  3. Ensures to resolve immigration related issues in a timely manner
  4. Ensures proper dissemination and keep the HR team informed of significant problems that may jeopardize the achievement of company goals, and those are not being addressed adequately.
  5. Facilitates and attend to employee queries regarding details of immigration formalities, and entitlements
  6. Manages the processing of all  immigration requirements in the most effective and efficient manner to expedite on boarding of new employees
  7. Ensures to update relevant business areas with issues, risks, and statuses of immigration/government processes and provide relevant solutions in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities 2

  1. Ensures immigration processes are completed in minimal time including Resident Permits, Drivers Licenses, Visas, CID procedures etc
  2. Track and monitor relevant expiry dates and ensure that all time-sensitive documents and licenses are renewed ahead of deadline to ensure full compliance and avoid fines.
  3. Maintains employee files and documents relevant to immigration transactions.
  4. In charge in the preparation of the internal memos and responsible in the proper monitoring of the reference numbers assigned in all departments correspondences.
  5. Arranges the labor contracts for signature and stamped before sending for attestation in the Labor Dept.
  6. Ensures proper recording and updating the master files of exit permits, business visa renewal and RP renewal.
  7. Keeps abreast with current labour/ immigration laws and update the HR staff on any changes

Good knowledge of Qatar Labor Law

Good knowledge of work related Government process & transactions

Job Experience

Minimum 1 year of working experience in any HR related function
