HSE Engineer

Job Summary

Supports the Company HSE Manager/Project HSE Manager to implement the HSE management system. Assist in planning, implementation, evaluation and analyzing HSE activities at site to ensure HSE target and objectives are measured and achieved.

 

Job Responsibilities 1

Principal Accountabilities

  • Assists in the implementation of and compliance to the Project Health and Safety Management Plan (PHSP) and Project HSE Management Programme.
  • Arranges, conducts and participates in training sessions, HSE Committee and Coordination Meetings
  • Advises supervisory Staff with regards to accident prevention and improvement related to work methods .
  • Assists in leading and supervising HSE officers onsite

 

Job Responsibilities 2

1.      Monitors the execution of HSE activities on a project to ensure HSE requirements are met as per the project HSE plan and HSEMS requirement.

  • Ensures that existing hazards, unsafe work conditions and /or practices are identified on a daily basis and observation reports are raised and corrective measures are recorded.
  • Ensures to address and report violation on daily basis and make necessary recommendations.

2. Monitors timely reporting of project HSE performance Ensure achievement of HSE goals on project.

  • Ensures to provide data on daily, weekly and monthly reports to Sr. HSE Engineer  to monitor and track HSE performance.

3. Drives internal and external relationships for effective and efficient achievement of HSE goals by conducting tool box talks, safety inductions, safety audits etc.

  • Ensures to orient employees with accident reporting procedures and how to act in case of emergencies on monthly basis.
  • Ensures to conduct daily tool box talk (TBT) to notify safety precautionary measure prior deployment of work at site.

4. Provides trainings to workers on HSE related subjects in incident prevention, first aid as well as other activities and safety awareness programs to increase awareness of HSE practices and procedures.

  • Ensures that 100 % of employees had passed site induction training before commencing the work.
  • Ensures visitor supplier and project personnel induction program is effective and implemented and daily logs are maintained.

5. Assists in developing and implementing field location emergency response procedures and evacuation plans to ensure safe evacuation procedures.

  • Ensures that written risk assessment has been developed for each task prior to the start of work.
  • Ensures that risk assessments findings and recommendations had been communicated to all concerned personnel on daily basis.
  • Ensures all project certified mobile plant and gears, HSE equipment such as harness etc are inspected on daily basis and log updated on monthly basis

6. Conducts inspection of Fire extinguishers.

  • Ensures that fire extinguishers are inspected on monthly basis and logs are maintained.

7. Facilitates Inspection of equipment’s, hand tools and other safety items.

  • Ensures all the equipment’s, ladders, hand tools, machineries etc. at site are inspected on daily basis by the authorized person and logs are maintained.

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of all relevant safety regulations, procedures and instructions
  • Knowledge in Qatar & International Safety Standards
  • Knowledge in integrated Management System
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, including air, wastewater, and hazardous waste
  • Knowledge of Chemical Material Management, including management of MSDS
  • Knowledge of pollution prevention & waste minimization initiatives

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Level 6 Diploma in OHS
