Heavy Duty Driver
Job Summary
The Heavy Duty Driver is responsible for transporting safely goods from one place to another using heavy or tractor-trailer trucks efficiently and safely to transport goods, contribute to supply chain operations, and ensure timely deliveries while upholding high standards of professionalism, compliance, and customer service.
Job Responsibilities 1
Transporting goods, materials, or products using heavy-duty trucks or vehicles.
Adhering to delivery schedules and optimizing routes for efficient transportation.
Ensuring the safe loading, securing, and unloading of cargo.
Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness.
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the vehicle interior and exterior.
Following traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards at all times.
Reporting any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
Communicating effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members.
Assisting with basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure.
Ensuring compliance with weight limits, hours of service regulations, and other legal requirements.
Providing excellent customer service to clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Adapting to changing delivery schedules, routes, or logistical challenges.
Practicing safe driving techniques to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.
Handling paperwork, such as delivery logs, manifests, and inspection reports.
Collaborating with warehouse staff, loaders, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.

Job Knowledge & Skills
Understanding and knowledge of local and regional traffic laws and regulations to ensure compliance and safe driving.
Familiarity with the local area, including streets, highways, and alternative routes, to plan efficient and timely trips.
Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance to conduct routine inspections and identify minor issues.
Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols to ensure the well-being of oneself, passengers, and transported goods.
Job Experience
Minimum 2 year(s) working experience, 1 year relevant working experience, 1 year GCC is a plus
