Job Summary

    The IT Systems Administrator handles the maintenance, configuration, and optimization of an organization's IT infrastructure. They are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of servers, networks, and other critical systems, including hardware, software, and peripherals. Additionally, they manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations. The IT Systems Administrator also troubleshoots technical issues, performs routine system updates and backups, and implements disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.

Job Responsibilities 1

    Manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization platforms.

    Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems, software applications, and hardware components as needed.

    Monitor system performance and security, identifying and addressing issues proactively to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity.

    Administer user accounts, access controls, and permissions, ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.

    Conduct regular system backups and implement disaster recovery procedures to protect against data loss and system failures.

    Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, resolving IT-related issues promptly and effectively.

    Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to evaluate new technologies, recommend solutions, and implement system enhancements.

    Document IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing.

    Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency and compliance with industry best practices.

    Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in IT systems administration, and recommend strategies for continuous improvement and innovation.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in administering and troubleshooting various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Unix.

Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.

Experience with server virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.

Familiarity with storage systems and technologies, including SAN, NAS, and RAID configurations.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to effectively diagnose and resolve technical issues while providing support to end-users.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Minimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
