Infrastructure Operations Engineer
QA
Job Summary
The Infrastructure Operations Engineer is responsible for operating, securing, automating, and continuously improving enterprise infrastructure across Microsoft Azure, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
The role has a strong focus on cloud operations, AIOps, Windows and Linux administration, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation, while providing operational support for core Windows and on-premises platforms.
The engineer ensures service availability, performance, security, scalability, cost efficiency, and recovery readiness by applying proactive monitoring, AI-assisted operations, automation, Infrastructure as Code, and structured IT service management practices.
Job Responsibilities 1
Cloud, Hybrid & Platform Operations
• Manage day-to-day operations of Microsoft Azure, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructure, ensuring availability, performance, security, scalability, cost efficiency, and compliance with operational standards.
• Provision, configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure services including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage, load balancing, identity and access, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, and security controls.
• Administer enterprise Linux platforms such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu, covering installation, configuration, user and permission management, patching, hardening, service management, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
• Support core on-premises infrastructure including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, virtualization platforms, server hardware, storage, backup, and related enterprise services.
AIOps, Observability & Automation
• Implement AIOps capabilities using AI-assisted monitoring, event correlation, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, intelligent alerting, incident triage, capacity forecasting, and automated remediation to improve reliability and reduce MTTD and MTTR.
• Develop operational automation and scripts using Python, Bash, and PowerShell to automate provisioning, health checks, patching, compliance validation, reporting, incident response, and repetitive infrastructure tasks.
• Implement observability across infrastructure platforms by collecting and analyzing metrics, logs, events, and alerts using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or equivalent monitoring tools.
Kubernetes, Containers & Infrastructure as Code
• Deploy, administer, and support Kubernetes and container platforms, including cluster health, nodes, namespaces, workloads, ingress, storage, networking, upgrades, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting of containerized services.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code and configuration automation using Terraform, Bicep, and Ansible, ensuring repeatable, controlled, documented, and version-managed infrastructure deployment.
• Support infrastructure DevOps practices through Git-based source control, code reviews, basic CI/CD pipelines, automated validation, and controlled deployment of infrastructure code using Azure DevOps, GitHub, or equivalent platforms.
IT Service Management, Security & Compliance
• Perform incident, problem, and change management activities, including advanced troubleshooting, service restoration, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and escalation in line with SLAs and ITSM processes.
• Maintain security and operational compliance through patch management, vulnerability remediation, access control, privileged-access governance, configuration hardening, certificate management, backup validation, and disaster recovery testing.
• Monitor infrastructure capacity and cloud consumption, identify rightsizing and cost-optimization opportunities, and support governance through tagging, budgets, utilization reporting, and lifecycle controls.
Collaboration, Projects & Documentation
• Collaborate with security, network, application, database, cloud, and service management teams to deliver infrastructure projects, platform upgrades, migrations, operational improvements, and production support.
• Maintain accurate architecture diagrams, asset and configuration records, SOPs, technical documentation, automation repositories, operational runbooks, and knowledge articles.
