Lead Electrical Technical Engineer
Job Summary
The Lead Technical Engineer performs design management of various types of projects residential commercial, warehouse/industrial buildings. Reviews the Electrical design of projects. Initiates value engineering exercises and identifies potential issues/constraints in design and construction during the early stages of design. Checks appropriateness of Electrical systems and correctness of design criteria proposed by consultants. Provides direction to consultants to ensure complete submission of Electrical deliverables within project schedule. Performs the task of managing the documentation of the Electrical drawings in coordination with mechanical, ELV, architectural and structural Works.
Job Responsibilities 1
Lead the design and review of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and low-voltage systems.
Ensure all electrical designs meet local regulations, industry codes, and project requirements.
Prepare, review, and approve electrical schematics, specifications, reports, and As-Built drawings.
Work with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into project designs.
Provide guidance to the electrical engineering team, mentoring junior engineers and resolving complex technical issues.
Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure electrical requirements are understood and met.
Review and approve vendor technical submittals, ensuring equipment meets performance, quality, and cost criteria.
Conduct safety assessments, implement risk mitigation measures, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Support testing, commissioning, and performance evaluation of electrical systems, resolving any issues.
Stay updated with industry trends, recommend design process improvements, and focus on efficiency and sustainability.
Contributes in identifying the SOW for the bidders.
Participates in the writing of the project Special Conditions for inclusion in all subcontracts.
Contributes in the Contract review (the Tender DWGs VS IFC DWG) for potential RFIs.
Reviews technically all the COB sheets, provide technical comments and insure adherence to the project DWGs, Specs and SOW.
Reviews technically the sub contracts agreements, provide technical comments and insure adherence to the Project DWGs, specs and Scope of Work.
Conducts study of the sub contract agreement handed over from commercial in details and stick to it, to ensure the adherence to the SC SOW in the subcontractor engineering submittals and inform commercial for any deviation from the SOW (cost saving or V.O).
Identifies the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims.
Coordinates and oversees all onsite material testing, ensure that all such testing with spec and codes.
Ensures weekly report detailing exact progress of all material requirements and areas of concern/delay.
Ensures all shop drawings are prepared accurately followed by all as-built drawings.
Close out technical submittals to be made available.
Closes out material submittals to be made available and ensures that during the course of the Project, all required material submittals required for close out are prepared in advance.
Leads and support teams in enhancing the competencies through facilitating effective coaching and mentoring.
Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies

Job Knowledge & Skills
Advanced proficiency in CAD software and other design tools for drafting and creating technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design specifications.
Extensive knowledge of architectural and engineering principles to effectively coordinate technical aspects of projects and resolve design challenges.
Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and quality assurance throughout the design process.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, oversee technical coordination efforts, and align project objectives.
Problem-solving abilities to anticipate and address technical issues, optimize project outcomes, and contribute to the successful delivery of design projects.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Job Experience
Minimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus.
