Job Summary

The Lead Technical Engineer performs design management of various types of projects residential commercial, warehouse/industrial buildings. Reviews the Electrical design of projects. Initiates value engineering exercises and identifies potential issues/constraints in design and construction during the early stages of design. Checks appropriateness of Electrical systems and correctness of design criteria proposed by consultants. Provides direction to consultants to ensure complete submission of Electrical deliverables within project schedule. Performs the task of managing the documentation of the Electrical drawings in coordination with mechanical, ELV, architectural and structural Works.

Job Responsibilities 1

Lead the design and review of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and low-voltage systems.

Ensure all electrical designs meet local regulations, industry codes, and project requirements.

Prepare, review, and approve electrical schematics, specifications, reports, and As-Built drawings.

Work with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into project designs.

Provide guidance to the electrical engineering team, mentoring junior engineers and resolving complex technical issues.

Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure electrical requirements are understood and met.

Review and approve vendor technical submittals, ensuring equipment meets performance, quality, and cost criteria.

Conduct safety assessments, implement risk mitigation measures, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Support testing, commissioning, and performance evaluation of electrical systems, resolving any issues.

Stay updated with industry trends, recommend design process improvements, and focus on efficiency and sustainability.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Advanced proficiency in CAD software and other design tools for drafting and creating technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design specifications.

Extensive knowledge of architectural and engineering principles to effectively coordinate technical aspects of projects and resolve design challenges.

Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and quality assurance throughout the design process.

Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, oversee technical coordination efforts, and align project objectives.

Problem-solving abilities to anticipate and address technical issues, optimize project outcomes, and contribute to the successful delivery of design projects.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in in any Engineering related discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical) or any Related Technical Certificates
