Job Summary

The Lead Expeditor is responsible for overseeing and managing the expediting process for the timely delivery of materials and equipment for the EPC oil and gas projects. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure that all materials and services are delivered according to project requirements and deadlines. The Lead Expeditor will also provide functional supervision to Expeditors to ensure effective execution of all expediting activities.

Job Responsibilities 1

Provide functional supervision to the expediting team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials, equipment, and services for the project.

Oversee and monitor the expediting process from purchase order issuance to final delivery at the project site, ensuring all milestones are met.

Track and report on the status of all expediting and delivery schedules, ensuring timely delivery and addressing any potential delays.

Coordinate with procurement, engineering, logistics, and construction teams to align delivery schedules with project timelines.

Identify, assess, and resolve any issues related to vendor delays, shipping, or material shortages, implementing corrective actions to minimize impact on the project.

Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and contractors to ensure effective collaboration and understanding of project requirements and deadlines.

Provide regular progress reports and updates on the status of expediting activities to senior management and project stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with procurement processes, contractual obligations, and industry standards for materials and services procurement.

Support the procurement team in vendor selection and negotiations to ensure the best possible lead times, pricing, and terms.

Manage and maintain documentation related to expediting activities, including tracking logs, reports, and vendor correspondence.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of expediting processes and logistics in the EPC Oil & Gas industry.

Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.

In-depth understanding of procurement and supply chain management tools and software (e.g., SAP).

Understanding of contractual terms and conditions as they relate to supporting expediting activities.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 5 years working experience, 3 years relevant working experience, 2 years GCC experience is a plus.

Education

Bachelor's Degree
