Job Summary

The Lead Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for leading and managing all engineering activities related to infrastructure works within major construction projects — including roads, utilities, drainage, earthworks, and associated civil systems. The role ensures that infrastructure designs and construction methodologies are technically sound, cost-effective, compliant with project specifications, and aligned with the overall delivery strategy.

Job Responsibilities 1

Infrastructure Design Management: Lead the development, review, and coordination of infrastructure design packages including roads, utilities, drainage, and grading works in alignment with project requirements and standards.

Technical Coordination: Coordinate across disciplines (Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Architectural) to ensure design integration and constructability of infrastructure systems.

Design Verification: Review drawings, calculations, and specifications submitted by consultants or subcontractors to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.

Engineering Support to Construction: Provide on-site engineering support during construction phases, resolving design-related issues, RFIs, and field modifications.

Standards & Compliance: Ensure all designs and materials conform to project specifications, local authority requirements, and international standards (BS, AASHTO, ASTM, etc.).

Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency through alternative design or construction methods without compromising quality or safety.

Interface Management: Manage interfaces between infrastructure works and other construction disciplines to avoid scope gaps and ensure schedule alignment.

Quality & HSE Integration: Embed safety-in-design and quality control measures in all engineering deliverables and construction processes.

Progress & Reporting: Track engineering progress, monitor performance of subcontractors or design consultants, and provide regular status updates to the Senior Technical & Engineering Manager.

Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers and draftsmen, ensuring consistent application of project standards and procedures.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Strong technical expertise in infrastructure engineering, including roads, drainage, utilities, and site development.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, InfraWorks, WaterCAD/SewerCAD, and related civil design tools.

Familiarity with local authority regulations and international codes (BS, AASHTO, ASTM, etc.).

Strong understanding of construction sequencing, design–build integration, and multidisciplinary coordination.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role

Job Experience

Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position, 2 years GCC experience is a plus
