Job Summary

The Lead Technical Safety Engineer specializes in midstream onshore projects carrying their background in Pre-FEED and FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) assignments, with expertise in facilities design and technical safety engineering activities across various project stages.

Job Responsibilities 1

Lead and provide technical safety engineering input for the development of oil and gas fields, including conceptual studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, basic engineering, and detail design phases.

Provide technical safety support to engineering teams in the design, development and operation of plant systems.

Leads the review of key deliverables such as: Safety Concept, Safety Philosophies, Safety distances, and QRA/FRA/ERA

Lead and participate in risk assessments, safety audits, and hazard analysis (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA) to identify potential risks and safety issues

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project completion and support other disciplines as needed.

Develop and review technical safety design basis, Loss prevention philosophies, and technical safety reports.

Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, IEC, API).

Provide recommendations for mitigating identified risks and ensure the implementation of corrective actions.

Provides visible safety leadership through active participation in the Project Safety Program.

Ensure all activities are undertaken in compliance with Company Safety, Health and Environment and Quality policies, regulations and standards.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in technical safety simulation software such as PHAST, Shell FRED, PIPENET and Bow- Tie XP, FLARESIM.

Strong knowledge of international standards, including API, NFPA, and IEC.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proven ability to lead and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position, 2 years GCC experience is a plus
