Job Summary
The Lifeguard ensures the safety of individuals at aquatic facilities such as swimming pools, beaches, water parks, and lakes. Lifeguards are responsible for preventing and responding to emergencies, enforcing safety rules, and providing assistance and support to swimmers in distress. Their primary goal is to prevent drownings and other water-related accidents by vigilantly monitoring swimmers, identifying potential hazards, and taking swift action to intervene when necessary. Additionally, they may provide first aid and CPR as needed, educate the public about water safety, and maintain a clean and organized aquatic environment. Overall, the job purpose of a Lifeguard is to promote a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience for all patrons.
Job Responsibilities 1
Monitor swimmers and aquatic activities to ensure safety and prevent accidents.
Enforce pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including rescuing swimmers in distress and administering first aid and CPR as needed.
Conduct regular inspections of the pool area and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Communicate with patrons to provide information on water safety, rules, and emergency procedures.
Collaborate with other lifeguards and pool staff to coordinate safety efforts and respond to incidents.
Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and rescues, and complete required documentation.
Participate in ongoing training and certification to maintain proficiency in lifesaving techniques and emergency response protocols.
Assist with pool maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, vacuuming, and chemical testing, to ensure a clean and hygienic swimming environment.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting patrons with inquiries, providing assistance as needed, and promoting a positive and welcoming atmosphere at the pool facility.

Job Knowledge & Skills
Comprehensive understanding of water safety principles, including recognizing and mitigating drowning risks, identifying hazards in aquatic environments, and implementing appropriate safety measures.
Proficiency in lifesaving techniques such as rescue swimming, spinal injury management, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), along with the ability to apply these techniques effectively in emergency situations.
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, make quick and accurate decisions during emergencies, and effectively coordinate rescue efforts with other lifeguards and emergency personnel.
Strong verbal communication skills to convey safety instructions to patrons, provide clear and concise directions during emergencies, and effectively communicate with colleagues and supervisors.
Keen observational skills to monitor swimmers and aquatic activities, identify signs of distress or potential hazards, and take proactive measures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe swimming environment.

Minimum 3 year(s) working experience, 2 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
