Light Duty Driver

Job Summary

The Light Duty Driver is responsible to drive a light motor vehicle for the day-to-day Company business transportation requirements, i.e. goods, materials or even people/employees, as and when required.

Job Responsibilities 1

Inspect the assigned vehicle(s) before and after the trip and record any possible defects.

Keep a log of all travel itineraries as well as maintaining accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and incidents.

Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.

Maintain overall cleanliness and maintenance of assigned vehicle and associated equipment(s) clean and in good working order.

Planning efficient routes considering traffic and weather conditions.

Assisting with loading and unloading goods or materials onto the vehicle.

Providing courteous customer service to passengers or clients.

Following safety protocols to minimize accidents or injuries.

Responding to emergencies such as accidents or breakdowns.

Being flexible and adaptable to changes in schedules or routes.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Understanding and knowledge of local and regional traffic laws and regulations to ensure compliance and safe driving.

Familiarity with the local area, including streets, highways, and alternative routes, to plan efficient and timely trips.

Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance to conduct routine inspections and identify minor issues.

Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols to ensure the well-being of oneself, passengers, and transported goods.

Job Experience

Minimum 2 year(s) working experience, 1 year relevant working experience, 1 year GCC is a plus
