Job Summary

    The Logistics Supervisor is to oversee and coordinate the logistics operations within an organization, ensuring efficient transportation, distribution, and storage of goods and materials. This role involves managing a team of logistics personnel, including drivers, warehouse workers, and administrative staff, to optimize productivity and meet operational goals. Additionally, The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for planning and scheduling logistics activities, monitoring inventory levels, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. They play a critical role in ensuring timely delivery of products, maintaining accurate records, and upholding safety and regulatory compliance standards within the logistics department.

Job Responsibilities 1

    Ensure effective and timely implementation of all Logistics daily operational goals.

    Assist in developing logistics programme along with support plans, budget requirements and organization timelines for new operations.

    Maintain and manage relations with warehouses, carriers, customs broker, and customers.

    Negotiate and support logistics costs meant for 3rd party logistics providers assisting yearly budget goals.

    Ensure that all parties are working together to guarantee that shipments are packed, sent and delivered in a timely manner.

    Develop logistics programme along with support plans, budget requirements and organization timelines for new operations.

    Assist in the evaluation of potential logistic suppliers and appropriate delivery management booking systems.

    Coordinate and present logistics support to ongoing operations.

    Assist in developing and executing tools and methodologies to enable effective implementation of logistic plans.

    Assist in designing and developing standard operating methods to manage logistics operations efficiently.

    Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes.

    Comply with all applicable Company directives, policies, and procedures.

    Ensure the organization’s safety policies are strictly followed.

    Assist in developing and maintaining logistic process documentation.

Job Responsibilities 2

Establish and manage relations with warehouses, carriers, customs broker, and customers.

Ensure customers receives their products/materials in a timely manner and good condition.

Communicate effectively with clients and responding to their requirements.

Ensure to develop methods of stock control, closely monitors warehousing management, and regularly submits situation reports on stocks, equipment and prepositioned goods.

Ensure to plan site set-up to move labor, plant, and materials around site efficiently (e.g., hoarding, gates, site accommodation, cranes, hoists, security, temporary services, material delivery and waste management strategy, catering).

Ensure to plan internal and external logistics routes through the project phases focusing on separation of vehicles, machinery and people. Lay down areas and offloading points.

Ensure to pre-plan the usage of key assets such as hoists to ensure planned assets meet the needs of the program.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Thorough understanding of logistics principles, including transportation, inventory management, and supply chain operations.

Strong leadership and managerial skills to effectively oversee logistics personnel and coordinate day-to-day operations.

Excellent organizational abilities to plan and schedule logistics activities, optimize routes, and ensure timely delivery of goods.

Proficiency in using logistics software and systems to track shipments, manage inventory, and analyze performance metrics.

Problem-solving skills to address logistical challenges, resolve issues, and implement process improvements for enhanced efficiency.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 5 year(s) working experience, 3 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain/Logistics related course
