Job Summary

Responsible for the successful execution of all Project Operations ensuring compliance with HSE, QA and Programme requirements whilst minimizing cost and maximizing productivity.   Ensure that all activities related to the Marine discipline, particularly the selection, installation, certification and operational procedures of marine equipment and related systems are correctly and safely defined.  Develop and update regular activity programmes for all contract responsibilities in accordance with client requirement

Job Responsibilities 1

  • Contribute to the formulation of the divisional strategy in alignment with the organization strategy, and support its implementation.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operational processes and systems
  • Establish a culture of continuous business improvement
  • Manage the Operations Teams to reach long-term professional objectives.
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of technological changes within the industry and industry best practice
  • Manage key projects and special initiatives that relate to company's growth with a focus on infrastructure or human resources.
  • On time review and approval of and/or prompt feedback for whatever issues pertaining to operations activities
  • Ensure Marine Team are kept abreast of key business and operational information and that messages are cascaded appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Oversee and ensure compliance to all relevant QHSE policies, procedures and controls across the Operations department to ensure that the organization provides safe, world class, secure and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public and its own people.

Job Responsibilities 2

  • Manage the setting and regular review of performance objectives for direct reports through the effective use of the Authority’s performance management process
  • Oversee all recruitment and team development activities ensuring that role vacancies are made available to the widest possible audience with the aim of achieving a diverse workforce within departments
  • Develop talent and people to ensure we have the right people in the right place and robust succession planning
  •  
  • Work closely with the HR Director/Manager to ensure that the human resource functions are properly resourced and represented within the senior management. Manage and oversee human resources are allocated over projects. Collaborate with HR to oversee annual performance review process and ensure proper documentation of employee growth/challenges
  • Manage the setting of, regular review and adherence to all operational budgets within the organization and operations departments
  • Responsibility for controlling costs and maintaining organization spend within the given budget.

Job Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of International and national statutory requirements.

• Broad understanding of Marine Operations related processes

• Knowledge of Marine Health and Safety Requirements

• Business Acumen

• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Job Experience

Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position, 2 years GCC experience is a plus

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Maritime Studies, Shipping Operations or relevant field
