Job Summary
To diagnose and treat newborns with conditions such as breathing disorders, infections, and birth defects.
Job Responsibilities 1
To coordinate care and medically manage newborns born premature, critically ill, or in need of surgery.
Ensure that critically ill newborns receive the proper nutrition for healing and growth.
Provide care to the newborn at a cesarean or other delivery that involves medical problems in the mother or baby that may compromise the infant's health and require medical intervention in the delivery room.
Stabilize and treat newborns with any life-threatening medical problems.
Consult with obstetricians, pediatricians, and family physicians about conditions affecting newborn infants.
Job Responsibilities 2
Supports in professional development of all medical, technical and nursing staff in his/her area of expertise.
Participates in the various committees for the upgrading of patient care services and organization of work within and outside the hospital.
Participates in scheduling of on-call duties and provides on-call services.
Participates in the assessment and updating of drug, medical supply and equipment needs.
Writes, completes and approves medical reports for patients.
Participates in research activities.
Performs special procedures as privileged.
Adheres to policies, guidelines, plans and programs of the organization.
Performs other duties as assigned/directed by the Head of the department.

Job Knowledge & Skills
• Valid and in a good standing medical license to practice in country of residence.Provides high quality care to patients in this area of medicine.Communication skills to explain complex medical information, procedures, answer questions to patients and their families.Technical skills to perform procedures and analyze data.Technical skills to interpret medical records, scan patient data and interpret test results.Ability to think and act quickly in a stressful environment.Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.Perfect vision and visuospatial awareness.Compassionate and empathetic.Supervise staff/assistant physicians and residents The ability to work well alone and within a team.
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
