OCC and Planning Manager
Job Summary
The OCC and Planning Manager oversees and manages all activities within the Operations Coordination Center (OCC), ensuring effective monitoring, communication, and control of airport operations on a 24/7 basis. The role is responsible for resource planning, shift scheduling, and operational coordination across ground handling functions to ensure seamless execution of flight operations. The position acts as the key focal point between airlines, ATC, ground operations, and internal departments to maintain operational efficiency, safety, and service quality in accordance with regulatory and airport standards.
Job Responsibilities 1
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the OCC, ensuring continuous situational awareness and coordinated responses to flight activities, delays, and disruptions.
Oversee resource and manpower planning, including shift rosters, equipment allocation, and vehicle scheduling to meet operational demand.
Monitor and analyze real-time flight operations, ensuring proactive communication and coordination with airlines, ATC, and airport departments.
Ensure timely dissemination of operational updates, incident notifications, and performance reports across relevant stakeholders.
Develop and maintain contingency and irregular operations (IROPS) plans, ensuring effective response strategies during operational disruptions.
Supervise turnaround coordination to ensure on-time performance, safety, and compliance with ground handling standards.
Lead OCC performance reviews, analyzing key operational metrics and implementing improvement actions in collaboration with other departments.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in operational planning, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
Manage and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
Liaise with regulatory authorities, airlines, and airport stakeholders to ensure compliance and operational readiness.
Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance development for the OCC and planning teams.
Prepare and present operational performance reports, trend analyses, and recommendations to senior management.

Job Knowledge & Skills
In-depth understanding of airport operations, flight coordination, and ground handling processes.
Strong knowledge of resource and shift planning methodologies and related digital tools.
Familiarity with ATC communication procedures, flight schedules, and OCC systems
Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills under time-critical conditions..
ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, are a requirement to be successful in this role (this point to be available for all roles that have SAP access)
Job Experience
8–10 years of experience in airport operations or OCC management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Experience with airline operations control, resource planning systems, or ground handling management preferred.
Safety, airside, or operational planning certification is an advantage.
