Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring that high quality patient care is given and that there is economical and efficient performance. They will lead and demonstrate the provision of safe patient and family focused quality care. Responsible for management of assigned Outpatient Clinics. They will assess, plan, direct, implement, and evaluate patient care to comply with established standards in accordance with MoPH and Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA).

Job Responsibilities 1

Responsible for the efficient management of consulting rooms and other outpatient areas, the maintenance and monitoring of agreed service standards, and the handling of all issues and complaints arising, in coordination with Nursing Manager – Outpatient Clinics. 

Strives for excellence in the OPD department and promotes team working and interdisciplinary relationships. 

Responsible for the patient management system, including implementing changes and training all relevant users, in coordination with Nursing Manager – Outpatient Clinics. 

Ensures that Nursing, Allied Health and support teams work flexibly and supportively together and that the objectives for the Outpatient Clinics Care are delivered. 

Evaluates patient acuity, develops, and reviews criteria for work assignment and delivery care model.  

Works closely with the Allied Health staff and those in support functions to ensure a seamless personalized service for all patients. 

Takes an innovative approach to the development of services, maximizing the use of digitalization to deliver excellent customer service. 

Ensures that there is planned, and effective day-to-day skill mix and staff management.  

Determines and reviews staffing plans and develops a scheduling system for unit and reviews regularly as staffing, skills mix, and acuity change. 

Acts as an expert resource for others requiring knowledge, experience, advice, and support within the multi-professional Allied Health team. 

Job Responsibilities 2

Performs or monitors personnel management functions, which includes interviewing and selecting candidates, directing the performance management program, and managing corrective action issues.  

Demonstrates growth and development in clinical and management skills through an ongoing process of education, consultation, and pertinent literature. 

Demonstrates research-based nursing practice in caring for patients in related specialties. 

Ensures effective channels of communication exist between the staff, the patients, and their relatives (and/or significant others) in order that they are always fully informed. 

Acts as a change agent, supporting staff in the implementation of new practices. 

Supports risk management activities. 

Contributes to the development and execution of the department’s short to mid-term plans to ensure alignment with the division’s strategic priorities and contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial objectives. 

Monitors, controls, and reports key performance indicators related to the OPD department to track performance and recommend corrective actions.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Previous Commissioning of Outpatient Clinics is highly desirable. 

Comprehensive knowledge of Accreditation Process in Healthcare Facility with particular emphasis on JCI. 

Thorough knowledge of the Ministry of Health’s regulations, laws, and utilization review committee planning, organization, and management. 

Knowledge of medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations, and the state peer review statute. 

Strong understanding of clinical research trials related to medical practice, clinical decision-making, healthcare systems, reimbursement, and other aspects impacting patient care. 

Excellent organizational skills. 

Excellent communication skills, using the spoken word, writing clearly and concisely, and presenting information publicly. 

Excellent Knowledge of reporting & analyzing outcomes, KPIs. 

Strong knowledge in Branding thru a competitive Market

Job Experience

Minimum 10 years of experience in Health Science (required). 

5 years managerial experience.

Minimum 3 years of experience in GCC (preferred).
