Job Summary

The Payroll Accountant is responsible for ensuring the payroll is in compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and labor laws. This role plays a critical part in maintaining proper financial reporting related to payroll activities.

Job Responsibilities 1

Review end-to-end payroll processing, including salary calculation, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Calculate and process payroll taxes, social security contributions, and other statutory obligations as per local regulations.

Maintain up-to-date employee records for leave, gratuity and air ticket provisions.

Conduct regular internal audits of payroll procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies.

Collaborate with the finance department for payroll postings in GL.

Oversee payroll system updates and troubleshoot any software issues in collaboration with IT.

Stay updated with changes in labor laws, tax regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance.

Identify opportunities to enhance payroll processing efficiency and implement improvements.

Safeguard sensitive employee information and maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll data.

Ensure all active employees have bank accounts in payroll.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of payroll principles, taxation, and labor laws.

Knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role

Job Experience

Minimum 5 years working experience in accounting, auditing or finance. 1-2 years working experience in Audit or compliance is a must.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Pubic Administration or business administration, and other related field or any related field
Certificate in Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
