Pharmacy Manager
Job Summary
To oversee the daily business operations of a pharmacy including dispensing prescribed medication, advising clients, managing the pharmacy staff, the inventory, ensuring the safe storage of prescription drugs and controlled substances.
Job Responsibilities 1
- Performs the full range of supervisory duties including performance evaluations, competency assessments, recommendations; selection of staff; disciplinary actions.
- Analyzes data and information and plans strategies to initiate needed change.
- Oversees the orientation process for new employees to the Pharmacy department.
- Assures that all licenses, registrations, certifications, and other date-sensitive credentials are current for all appropriate staff.
- Insures the confidentiality of patient and employee-related information.
- Assures that all employees practice safe work habits.
- Coordinate’s tracking, trending, and analysis to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the department
- Helps develop, implement, and monitor outcome indicators as appropriate.
- Coordinates and monitors compliance with the requirements of external and internal reviewers.
- Reviews and initiates appropriate action in response to data from performance measures, monitors, root cause analyses, and other evaluative indicators.
- Plans and evaluates practice for the Pharmacy Department based on established professional and regulatory standards; recommends and implements changes to meet those standards.

Additional Responsibilities 3
- Provide consultation to physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals on drug information.
- Participate in hospital quality program and be member of quality committees.
- Responsible for participating in quality assurance/quality improvement activities related to pharmaceutical care and drug utilization management
- Lead the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements, policies, and standards.
- Ensure the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency and adhere to all relevant department’s policies, processes, procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Follow all relevant organizational HSE and QM policies, processes, procedures, and instructions to ensure Health, Safety and Quality compliance in all aspects of work and ensure commitment to a culture of continuous improvement by complying with Quality Management System processes, providing, and receiving constructive feedback, to meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
Job Knowledge & Skills
• Previous Commissioning Experience of an acute Healthcare Facility desirable
• Previous Licencing experience of a Healthcare Facility in the GCC desirable
• Comprehensive knowledge of Accreditation Process in an acute Healthcare Facility with particular emphasis on JCI and preferably in more than one facility
• In-depth knowledge of the pharmacological uses and side effects of prescription drugs and controlled substances.
• Advanced knowledge of protocols regulating the safe storage of prescription drugs and controlled substances.
• Exceptional communication skills in advising customers and managing employees.
• Ability to proactively follow up any irregularities with scripts processed at the pharmacy.
• Competency in pharmacy management software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Minimum 8 years of experience in Pharmacy(required)Experience in JCIA Accreditation (required)
4 Years Retail Pharmacy Management Experience
Minimum 3 years in GCC (preferred)
