Pharmacy Supervisor
Job Summary
The Pharmacy Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective pharmaceutical care to patients. This role involves managing pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing pharmacy workflows, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes.
Job Responsibilities 1
Supervises and coordinates daily pharmacy operations, including prescription processing, inventory management, and medication distribution.
Ensures adherence to all pharmacy protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements, including state and federal laws.
Implements and maintains effective workflows to enhance efficiency and patient safety.
Manages pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support personnel, through recruitment, training, evaluation, and performance management.
Provides ongoing education and support to staff regarding pharmaceutical practices, new medications, and technology updates.
Fosters a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages professional growth and teamwork.
Monitors and evaluates pharmacy services to ensure high-quality care and patient safety.
Conducts regular audits of pharmacy operations and medication storage to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Job Responsibilities 2
Addresses and resolves any medication errors or discrepancies promptly and effectively.
Collaborates with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and ensure appropriate pharmacotherapy management.
Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and provides drug information and recommendations to clinical teams.
Assists in the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and patient education programs.
Oversees inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies.
Manages pharmaceutical budgets, monitor expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising patient care.
Ensures appropriate storage and handling of medications in accordance with best practices and regulatory guidelines.
Stays informed of changes in pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices, and implements necessary changes in pharmacy operations.

Job Knowledge & Skills
Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacy law, and medication management practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyse complex situations and make informed decisions.
Proficiency in pharmacy management software and electronic health records (EHR).
Job Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmacy practice, with 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
Experience in a clinical setting or specialty pharmacy is a plus.
Minimum of 1 year in GCC (Preferred).
