Job Summary

Under the supervision of the recreation manager or the facility manager, you will be responsible for the supervision of the operation. Services provided include but are not limited to, special events/marketing/entertainment, games and other supporting activities as specified.

Job Responsibilities 1

  1. Develop, coordinate, promote and evaluate recreational programs for all ages and abilities.
  2. Ensure an opportunity for a variety of safe, accessible, and appropriate recreational activities to
  3. occur in the recreational facilities within the Township with no or very limited barriers.
  4. Develop, coordinate, and assist with the implementation of Special Events for all age based on
  5. community needs and wants and actively participate in specific community operated events
  6. when necessary.
  7. Ensure best practices and standards are followed in the development and implementation of programs and special events.
  8. Establish and maintain appropriate public relations in the community

Job Responsibilities 2

  • Respond to community needs and public inquiries/complaints as they relate to recreation programming
  • Promote and publicize all recreation/leisure programs/services through the incorporation of media sources, and direct customer/community contact
  • Develop, recommend, and implement recreation programming-based policies and procedures
  • Organize, coordinate, and facilitate meetings with individuals, user groups, schools, community groups, etc., assisting with their needs as required (access to facilities, promotion, connections with other groups, etc.)
  • Attend Recreation Advisory Committee meetings
  • Responsible and accountable for special assignments as assigned by the Manager assignments.
  • Recreation and Facilities such as Energy Management reporting.
  • Liaise with Recreation and Public Works staff to maximize efficient use of facilities.
