Job Summary

To operate at an advanced level of practice, with expert knowledge in the management of patients’ Therapy requirements, issues, and conditions. To create a strategy and framework and support with relevant evidence-based policy, to develop therapy-based services, including but not limited to Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and language therapy and Podiatry, as well as third party services contracted to provide support in custom seating, orthotics, and equipment provision. To explore and introduce novel ways to engage the community with health and wellbeing, including healthy living and preventative health measures. Establish and manage the service, including its employees, stakeholders and needs to meet all fiscal and quality related performance indicators.

Job Responsibilities 1

Contributes to the development of The View Hospital (TVH) vision, mission, and strategy by leading the activation and development of the Rehabilitation Service.

Achieves a high-quality patient outcomes and operational efficiency, by using activation, recruitment, operational management, leadership, governance, and performance of Rehabilitation Service.

Manages a diverse, multi-disciplinary staff group with complex, challenging and often competing needs.

Plans, schedules, coordinates, and supervises the operations of Rehabilitation Service and staff.

Collaborates with Human Resources department in the development of the service’s manpower plan to ensure timely and best-of-class delivery of tasks.

Manages all personnel, including but not limited to, scheduling, performance management, training, and education.

Prepares and recommends the department’s budget in alignment to the respective annual business plan and ensures proper cascading into all budgetary elements.

Provides highly specialist interventions in line with own profession, from initial clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care within set patient groups.

Manages caseload of highly complex patients with a broad range of conditions, using evidence-based Interventions to assess, plan, implement and evaluate intervention and facilitate the learning of same and inter professional groups in relation to the management of such cases.

Ensures safe practice at all times through the recognition and appreciation of clinical governance.

Implements all aspects of effective clinical governance for own practice, including undertaking regular audit and evaluation, supervision, and training.

Maintains accurate and comprehensive patient records, in alignment with professional standards.

Writes, evaluates, and updates departmental protocols, policies, standards, frameworks as required.

Facilitates the provision of education to patients and family members on all aspects of care.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Strong Knowledge of the Rehabilitation provision in GCC & Qatar

In depth understanding of insurance backed systems and the impact on clinical service offerings.

In depth understanding of electronic medical records, documentation, and data privacy.

Comprehensive knowledge of accreditation Process in an acute Healthcare Facility with particular emphasis on JCI and preferably in more than one facility.

Ability to explain complex ideas simply.

Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships with patients/careers.

Teamworking skills to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Time management skills and ability to work under pressure.

IT skills to record and access patient records.

Understanding and tact to deal with sensitive issues.

Negotiation skills to help patients overcome barriers and create positive change.

Willingness to keep up to date with current evidence-based practice, information and research.

Job Experience

Minimum 8 years of clinical experience in a related discipline (required).

4 years managerial experience in a related discipline.

Experience of working and managing teams in private healthcare.

Minimum 3 years in GCC (preferred)

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Science
Professional Qualification in any related field or Science
