Job Summary

The Rig Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the drilling rigs. The role requires maintaining the integrity of the rig's equipment, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The Rig Engineer also plays a critical role in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to the rig's machinery and operations.

Job Responsibilities 1

Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of drilling rig equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.

Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and optimizing rig performance.

Monitor daily drilling operations, analyze performance data, and recommend efficiency improvements.

Supervise rig crews, provide technical training, and ensure proper equipment operation and safety awareness.

Prepare detailed reports on rig performance, maintenance activities, and operational incidents.

Ensure the availability of critical spare parts, track inventory, and optimize equipment usage.

Collaborate with Rig Managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align operations with project goals.

Develop and enforce emergency response procedures to minimize risks during drilling operations.

Manage operational costs, optimize resource utilization, and ensure financial efficiency in drilling operations.

Job Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of drilling rig equipment and systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic).

Strong understanding of safety standards and regulations (HSE, OSHA).

Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and technical issues under pressure.

Good communication and leadership skills.

Ability to work in a remote, high-pressure environment.

Job Experience

Minimum 5 years working experience, 3 years relevant working experience, 2 years GCC experience is a plus.
