Job Summary
The Senior Food Safety and Hygiene Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene throughout the operation while managing all aspects of waste management services. This role ensures the efficient and cost-effective delivery of the hygiene program, driving seamless operations that contribute to enhanced guest satisfaction and improved business profitability.
Job Responsibilities 1
Plan and direct the on-site hygiene team's activities to continuously improve hygiene standards.
Develop and manage audit schedules, work instructions, and ensure compliance with regulatory inspections and certification audits.
Implement and enforce safety measures across all hygiene operations to minimize accidents and reduce lost time incidents.
Ensure all hygiene services meet required standards and are consistently maintained.
Oversee the hygiene budget, ensuring all expenses are authorized and accurately recorded.
Manage the ordering, stock control, and distribution of hygiene consumables and chemicals.
Maintain detailed cleaning schedules and instructions to comply with food safety standards.
Oversee the site laundry services, including both external contractors and in-house laundry operations.
Manage the pest control contract, ensuring all pest prevention actions are completed to required standards.
Supervise the daily operation of staff facilities, including vending services, canteen supplies, washroom facilities, and associated equipment.
Job Responsibilities 2
Conduct regular compliance audits and inspections to ensure internal hygiene standards and documentation are met.
Manage the provision of hygiene chemicals and dosing equipment, including regular reviews with suppliers, chemical checks, and maintenance.
Ensure the safe storage, handling, and transportation of chemicals on-site, in compliance with regulations.
Collaborate with suppliers to source cost-effective equipment and consumables and resolve supplier non-conformance issues promptly.
Work closely with the site leadership team to ensure the hygiene team receives adequate training and support for individual development.
Prepare monthly reports highlighting operational hygiene gaps and create action plans to address them.
Conduct COSHH assessments, risk assessments, and document safe systems of work for all hygiene-related tasks.
Ensure all hygiene and waste management staff are trained and competent in relevant procedures.

Job Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of cleaning systems, methodologies, and best practices.
Proficient in budget management and financial reporting.
Knowledgeable in waste segregation, recycling services, and sustainability practices.
In-depth knowledge of HACCP, MSDS, and OSHA regulations and processes.
Experience with integrated hygiene and environmental management systems is highly beneficial.
Proven track record of success in hygiene management,
particularly within FMCG and food environments.
Thorough understanding of food safety standards, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations.
Experience with ERP, preferably with SAP, is essential for effective management in this role.
