Job Summary

Assesses and advises the proposals team on the insurance requirements and premium to be allowed. Obtains and updates insurance cover as per the company and project liabilities, indemnities and insurance requirements. Solicits insurance quotes from the market. Insurance cover placement, maintains insurance policies and handles insurance claims.

Job Responsibilities 1

Principal Accountabilities

  • Analyses liabilities, indemnities and insurance applicable to the tender/proposal.
  • Prepares table of indemnities and insurance coverage, indication summary, proposed insurance coverage summary etc. as per the client’s requirement.
  • Collects project information such as scope of work, project bar chart, project plan/drawing etc. as an attachment to insurance tender, i.e. information to be forwarded to Insurers.

Job Responsibilities 2

1.    Assistance to Group Risk and Insurance Director on all (re)insurance procedures

  •     Submittal of accurate updated fortnightly reports to and as set out by Group Director
  •     Assistance in other processes or procedures as requested

2.    Analysis of claims

  • Claims registrations.
  • Management of all processing of permitted insurance claims
  •     Coordination between involved parties

3.    Assistance in tendering for procurement of insurance

  • Assisting Group director in obtaining initial and all needed documents on projects and as required for procurement of various insurances
  • Policy crosschecks

4.    Assistance in all policy renewal process

  • Coordination between relevant parties
  • Obtaining required documents
  • Policy and Endorsement crosschecks

5.    Administration

  • Policy documentation

Job Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of local insurance markets

• Knowledge in property insurance, casualty insurance and construction related insurance arrangement with exposure in technical claims and interpretation of legal liability

• Specific experience in insurance claim

• Understanding of the geopolitical developments within the region an advantage

• Solid foundation knowledge of insurance claims processing, insurance procurement, and local markets

• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
