Job Summary
The Senior Laboratory Engineer – Concrete & Aggregate is responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, managing testing programs, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and providing advanced technical expertise in concrete mix design and aggregate performance. The role leads laboratory personnel and supports project teams in optimizing material quality and performance.
Job Responsibilities 1
Laboratory Leadership
· Supervise laboratory engineers and technicians and allocate testing workloads.
· Ensure efficient laboratory operations and resource utilization.
Advanced Material Testing
· Review and validate complex concrete and aggregate test results.
· Lead investigation of material failures and quality deviations.
Concrete Mix Design & Optimization
· Develop and review concrete mix designs for various project requirements.
· Recommend optimization strategies for performance and cost efficiency.
Quality Assurance Oversight
· Ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards.
· Approve laboratory reports and technical documentation.
Technical Advisory
· Provide expert advice to QA/QC, consultants, and project management teams.
· Support troubleshooting of site material-related issues.
Laboratory Accreditation & Compliance
· Support ISO laboratory accreditation and audits.
· Maintain laboratory quality management system.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
· Interface with consultants, clients, and project teams.
· Participate in technical meetings regarding materials performance.
Equipment & Calibration Management
· Oversee laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration schedules.
· Recommend procurement of new testing equipment.
Training & Capability Development
· Mentor laboratory engineers and technicians.
· Conduct technical training on testing standards and procedures.

Concrete Mix Design Expertise: Advanced knowledge of mix design optimization and durability requirements.

Standards & Accreditation: Knowledge of ISO 17025 and testing standards.
Job Experience
10–15 years of experience in construction materials laboratory.
Experience in leading laboratory operations.
Experience in large infrastructure or mega construction projects.

Education
