Job Summary
The Senior Neonatology Consultant will lead our neonatology department, providing expert medical care, consultation, and leadership in the management of critically ill neonates. Reporting directly to the Chief of Pediatrics, this position offers an opportunity to contribute to clinical excellence, education, and research in neonatology.
Job Responsibilities 1
Provide specialized medical care to critically ill newborn infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), including premature infants and those with congenital anomalies or complex medical conditions.
Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, procedures, and imaging studies relevant to neonatal care.
Collaborate closely with pediatric subspecialists and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Lead and mentor a team of neonatologists, fellows, residents, nurses, and support staff within the neonatology department.
Provide guidance on clinical management, treatment protocols, and complex neonatal cases.
Foster a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning within the NICU.
Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance neonatal care outcomes, patient safety, and family-centered care.
Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices in neonatology.
Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews, case conferences, and quality improvement projects.
Engage in teaching, supervision, and mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows, and healthcare professionals in neonatology.
Job Responsibilities 2
Contribute to clinical research, publications, and presentations at national and international conferences.
Stay updated with advancements in neonatal medicine and contribute to the development of clinical pathways and guidelines.
Collaborate effectively with obstetricians, pediatricians, surgeons, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care for newborns and their families.
Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing compassionate support, education, and counseling regarding neonatal conditions and treatment plans.
Serve as a resource for healthcare professionals and participate in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings.

Proven ability to manage diverse patient populations and complex medical conditions in a primary care setting.
Expertise in managing critically ill neonates, including advanced neonatal resuscitation and intensive care.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Job Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience as Consultant Neotalogy (Mandatory).
Preferred: Minimum 1 year’s work experience in the Gulf Cooperation Council (Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain).
