Job Summary

The Senior Procurement Engineer is responsible for the procurement or purchasing of technical goods and services of operation. Evaluates new and existing suppliers and negotiate purchase agreements with them. This position ensures that purchased goods and services are delivered in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities 1

Reviews / assesses technical specification and drawings to determine suitable vendors and suppliers. 

Ensures that all potential suppliers are provided with identical information upon which the quotations are given equal opportunity to meet the desired requirements.

Negotiates the best payment terms and contract conditions, maintaining high level of integrity.

Job Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge and direct experience in negotiating contracts and quotations with Vendors and Suppliers.Knowledge in operations, services and activities of a procurement administration program.Knowledge in principles and practices of materials management and inventory control.Knowledge on Building Specifications and Bill of Quantities.Knowledge of Contract Law.Negotiation Skills.Knowledge in applicable financial computer software applications.Knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors).

• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
