Job Summary
The Steward in kitchen operations is responsible to clean dishes and ensure overall maintenance of kitchen space ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Job Responsibilities 1
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces according to established procedures and schedules.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other cooking utensils by hand or using dishwashing machines.
Ensure that kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and storage areas, are clean and free of debris.
Dispose of food and non-food waste properly, following waste management guidelines and regulations.
Assist with receiving and storing kitchen supplies, including cleaning products, chemicals, and equipment.
Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
Follow food safety and sanitation protocols to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses.
Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables or portioning ingredients.
Support kitchen staff during busy periods by helping with dishwashing and cleaning tasks as needed.
Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel promptly.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing cleaning tasks.
Collaborate with kitchen and restaurant staff to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for food preparation and service.

Job Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines.
Understanding of proper cleaning and sanitization procedures for kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
Familiarity with different types of kitchen equipment and their maintenance requirements.
Knowledge of inventory management practices related to cleaning supplies and chemicals.
Understanding of waste management procedures for food and non-food waste disposal.
Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures for cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Physical stamina and endurance to perform repetitive tasks and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Time management skills to prioritize tasks and complete them efficiently within designated timeframes.
Job Experience
Minimum 2 year(s) working experience, 1 year relevant working experience, 1 year GCC is a plus
