Support Services Manager
Job Summary
The Support Services Manager is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and execution of a range of non-clinical services within the hospital. This includes overseeing catering, housekeeping, waste management, laundry, security, landscaping, pest control, and façade cleaning. The manager ensures these services are delivered to the highest standards to support patient care and hospital operations while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, local laws, and international best practices.
Job Responsibilities 1
Ensure the efficient and hygienic preparation, storage, and delivery of meals for patients, staff, and visitors, in line with dietary requirements and safety standards (HACCP).
Oversee the kitchen staff and monitor food quality, safety, and adherence to hospital meal plans.
Liaise with nutritionists and clinical teams to ensure special dietary requirements are met.
Supervise housekeeping operations to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the hospital, including wards, operating theatres, and public areas.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and waste segregation practices.
Develop and implement effective waste management systems, including medical, general, and hazardous waste.
Ensure proper disposal methods according to local regulations and hospital policies.
Collaborate with waste management contractors and ensure timely collections.
Job Responsibilities 2
Oversee the hospital’s laundry operations, ensuring clean linens and uniforms are provided consistently and meet hygiene standards.
Manage vendor relationships for outsourced laundry services.
Implement and manage hospital security protocols to safeguard staff, patients, visitors, and property.
Coordinate with security teams to monitor hospital premises and ensure 24/7 security coverage.
Ensure emergency response plans are in place and staff are trained on security procedures.
Supervise the maintenance of hospital grounds, including gardens, outdoor spaces, and parking lots.
Ensure that landscaping enhances the hospital's appearance and provides a calm, welcoming environment for patients and visitors.
Develop pest control strategies and ensure regular inspections and treatments are conducted.
Ensure compliance with pest control health and safety standards to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

Job Knowledge & Skills
Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, safety standards, and facility management.
Experience managing budgets, contracts, and external service providers.

Job Experience
Minimum 7-10 years of experience managing support services within a hospital or large healthcare facility.
5 Years of Managerial Experience
Minimum 3 years in GCC (preferred)
