MV Team Leader

Job Summary

The MV Team Leader leads the MV shift team at Damascus International Airport and supervises engineers and technicians on substations, transformers, switchgear and protection. The role coordinates switching, isolation, maintenance and fault response, enforces electrical safety and escalates major issues to the Medium Voltage Manager.

Job Responsibilities 1

1. MV Shift Works

• Allocate inspection, operation, maintenance and fault response tasks to the MV shift team.
• Monitor loads, alarms, protection status and equipment condition during the shift.
• Coordinate approved switching, isolation, proving dead, earthing and safe restoration.
• Lead initial response to MV faults and trips and escalate major risks to the manager.
• Check substation access, keys and safety equipment at the start of each shift.

2. Safety & Coordination

• Enforce electrical safety, authorization limits, lockout/tagout and substation access rules.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance to limit the impact on airport operations.
• Coordinate with the utility provider and contractors during outages and maintenance.
• Make sure only authorized staff carry out MV switching and isolation.

3. Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise MV engineers and technicians and check the quality of completed work.
• Coach staff and report competency, authorization or resource gaps to the manager.

4. Governance, Compliance & Reporting

• Maintain shift logs, switching records, fault reports and protection event details.
• Prepare handover notes on network status, isolations and pending work.
• Close MV work orders in the CMMS with complete records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management within the scope and seniority of the role.

Job Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in MV maintenance, including at least 2 years as a lead.
