Senior LV Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior LV Engineer provides advanced engineering support for LV distribution, protection, lighting, UPS and earthing systems at Damascus International Airport. The role leads complex fault investigations, plans and supervises maintenance and shutdowns, reviews technical documents and guides LV engineers and technicians.

Job Responsibilities 1

1. Engineering Support

• Lead troubleshooting of complex or recurring LV faults and prepare root cause analyses.
• Review readings, test results, alarm history and load data to identify reliability risks.
• Review drawings, material submittals, modifications and contractor proposals for LV works.

2. Maintenance & Shutdowns

• Plan and supervise LV maintenance, testing, shutdowns, switching and restoration activities.
• Prepare switching plans, method statements, risk assessments and inspection checklists.
• Coordinate shutdowns with operations to limit the impact on airport services.

3. Technical Guidance

• Guide LV engineers and technicians through on-the-job coaching and technical briefings.
• Recommend LV asset renewals and system improvements based on condition and fault data.

4. Governance, Compliance & Reporting

• Keep engineering records, test reports and single-line diagrams accurate and current.
• Follow permit-to-work, isolation and safe switching rules on all LV work.
• Report technical findings and recommendations to the Low Voltage Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management within the scope and seniority of the role.

• LV Systems: Distribution, lighting and UPS.
• Load Calculations: Loads and voltage drop.
• Testing: Insulation and protection tests.
• Drawings: AutoCAD and single line diagrams.
• Communication: Arabic and English.

Job Experience

Minimum 4 years of experience in LV electrical engineering or maintenance.
