Senior MV Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior MV Engineer provides advanced engineering support for MV operation, switching, protection, testing and fault investigation at Damascus International Airport. The role leads complex fault analysis, plans maintenance and shutdowns, reviews protection settings and technical documents and guides MV engineers and technicians.

Job Responsibilities 1

1. Engineering

• Lead diagnosis of complex or recurring MV faults and prepare root cause analyses.
• Review relay events, alarms, test results, condition monitoring data and load trends.
• Review drawings, protection settings, submittals and contractor proposals for MV works.

2. Maintenance Planning

• Plan and supervise MV maintenance, testing, shutdowns, switching and safe restoration.
• Prepare switching programs, method statements, risk assessments and inspection checklists.
• Coordinate outages with operations, the utility provider and contractors.

3. Technical Guidance

• Coach MV engineers and technicians on switching, testing and fault finding.
• Recommend reliability, protection and asset renewal improvements for the MV network.

4. Governance, Compliance & Reporting

• Keep single-line diagrams, protection settings and test records accurate and controlled.
• Follow permit-to-work, earthing and switching authorization rules on all MV work.
• Report technical findings and recommendations to the Medium Voltage Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management within the scope and seniority of the role.

Job Experience

Minimum 4 years of experience in MV engineering or maintenance.
